Macmillan and Dimbleby Welfare Benefits Advice Project
Working together to help with the cost of cancer
Southwark Citizens Advice Bureaux, Macmillan Cancer Support and Dimbleby Cancer Care have joined forces to provide advice on welfare benefits and other sources of financial help to people affected by cancer.
Advice sessions are held at the following cancer clinics across the South East London Cancer Network:
- Guy's Hospital
- St Thomas Hospital
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich
- Kings College Hospital
- Lewisham Hospital
Service Offered
- Applying for benefits
- Appealing against benefit decisions
- Applying for tax credits
- Health costs such as prescriptions and travel to hospital
- Accessing charitable grants
- Applying for local authority financial support such as
- School clothing grants
- Applying for transport concessions such as a disabled parking badge
- Housing costs
